PoemThe Song of Malaime
Author / PoetGuillaume Apollinaire
TagsLondon, Love, Pharaoh, Shame

A misty evening in London
A thug who looked like
My love came my way
And the look he gave me
Made me look down in shame

I follow that bad boy
Who whistled hands in pockets
We seemed between the houses
Red Sea open wave
He the Hebrews me Pharaoh

Who fall these waves of bricks
If you were not well loved
I am the ruler of Egypt
His sister-wife his army
If you are not the only love.
